Influence of geometric nonlinearity on static and dynamic response of flexible beam

Abstract The flexible beam theory is widely applied in engineering, due to that many engineering structures can be regarded as beam. For the under large rotation, researches have shown consideration of geometric nonlinearity necessary: deflection will erroneously larger or diverge without nonlinearity. reason lies on dynamic stiffening effect caused by rotation well studied already, however, most studies only focus with constant cross section and rarely considers rotation. In view this, a variable twisted adopted analyze influence nonlinearity, response static also analyzed. results compared, different load compared. On basis result comparison, then explained.
